Coming off the success of the original Nyjah Free, we knew we had a winning formula. But through our work with Nyjah and listening to feedback from skateboarders, we also knew there were some problems to solve - a great place to start for an update. First, the upper of the Nyjah Free, though extremely durable and offering world-class flick, was also ridiculously hot. We solved that issue by inserting ultra-breathable mesh panels in the upper.

We also heard from skateboarders that the bootie fit was a bit too restrictive and made the shoe hard to access, especially for those skaters with a high arch. Nyjah, on the other hand, loved everything about the bootie fit from the original. In an effort to make the shoe a bit easier to access while still retaining the fit Nyjah loved so much, we designed a three-quarter bootie system that incorporated a tongue break at the upper collar. This allowed just enough articulation to make the fit accommodating for all skaters.
